Multiple Artists Galleries
Some woodblock-printed picture books were published to provide art lovers with examples of paintings by distinguished artists. The paintings were copied and printed in shades of gray in the 18th century and later in color in the 19th and 20th centuries. Each book included pictures drawn by a number of different artists.
